We all know it’s important to eat a healthy diet, but sometimes this can seem like a bit of a chore. The trick is to find plenty of healthy meals that you really enjoy eating – then you won’t be thinking so much about what you’re missing.
In the quest to eat better – maybe you’re looking to manage your weight or wondering how to lower cholesterol – it’s often worth turning to non-Western food cultures. Thai recipes, for example, can be incredibly healthy, often based on naturally low calorie spices and herbs, such as garlic, ginger or coriander. On top of that, there are plenty of Thai meals to try if you want to swap beef or lamb (which are high in saturated fat, and worth avoiding if you’re thinking about how to lower cholesterol) for leaner proteins, like seafood or tofu.
Here’s one great example of healthy eating Thai food: Tom Yum Seafood Noodle Soup. This soup combines tasty ingredients like chilli, lime, and coriander with seafood and rice noodles for a light but rewarding meal.
